This morning, students of 56M and 56O had a great time learning about the importance of National Reconciliation Week and how it is a time to celebrate and build on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We spoke about what Reconciliation means and then formed a timeline which outlined important dates and events in the history of Reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. This was an engaging platform for students to ask questions, share and contribute their own thoughts and feelings towards Reconciliation.
Working in pairs, the students then researched their own mini project on the First Australians or Reconciliation. Be sure to ask your child which topic they decided to research and why! – Miss Meredith and Mr Nicho!
